The Hamper Saga

A trip to the fabric store today! For some reason they rearranged the entire store since the last time I was there, and I had a heck of a time finding anything. Luckily, I brought a scrap of fabric with me, and pathetically asked an employee where to find more. Turns out the name of that kind of canvas is duck canvas (why? I don't know) and they decided to store it far away from the other types of muslin and canvas. Anyway, now I can continue working on the laundry hamper, despite my miscalculation. Measure twice, cut once, kids.

I also found green buttons - a bit bigger than I intended, but it is so hard to match the polka dot fabric I have. When did apple green go out of fashion, guys? It was everywhere a few years ago and I really like it. IKEA, please make more boxes that color, mine are getting tattered.

I also got some little wooden picture frames (I have plans for them), and a home decor book with the worst taste in fabric I've ever seen, but a very decent spread of techniques and projects. I also - which of my friends read this blog? Better play it safe. I got a TOP SECRET THING for very cheap, and am quite excited about it. Overall, a very good day!
