The Last Straw

I put the kiddo to bed and stopped on my way upstairs to use the bathroom. They fell off my face and the wire-frame bridge bent when they hit the ground. When I bent it back, the bridge snapped off where it joins the eyepiece. I went to bed. There was nothing I could do. The snapped halves were horrible to look at.
In the morning, I started the hunt for superglue. I have a pair of prescription sunglasses, so I'm not entirely blind, but everything is dark, I have a headache, and I want my real glasses. They are part of my face, and I hate being helpless. My twin bought me glue and a tiny screwdriver, and I got to work. I took out the lens closest to the break, and put so many layers on that there's a water drop sized bulge of glue, and it's still drying. God, I need this to work.
These frames are several years old and the break is in a really bad place, so it's not worth trying to get them professionally repaired. It has been a couple years since my last eye exam, so I would need to get one before spending money on glasses. The nearest place that sells glasses takes two weeks to deliver. The nearest place with a quicker turnaround is closed on weekends. Monday is the Bad Things date anyway, so I can't spend time getting eye exams and buying glasses. I am gonna have to schedule an eye exam for the day I get back to Florida, and I can try to hunt down my old glasses there (somewhere in the scattered shipwreck of my room) or solder my frames or some shit to last the 5-7 business days it will take to get the new glasses.
I did not need this shit. This is the last fucking straw on top of all the other fucking straws. I am so goddamned angry. I really did not need one more thing in my life going wrong.
