News From Tall Forest

I have arrived, safe and sound. It's dang cold, and I am getting a lot of mileage out of my beloved extra long sweater vest my grandma knitted for me. I've lived in this climate before, and didn't like it then either.
Very, very good news on the Bad Things front. I got off my second flight and called my twin from the luggage carousel, and she told me the good news had literally just happened and she was sorting out the details. So, I will probably only need to stay two weeks, and from the sound of it, it will be easier than expected. I know I'm being hilariously cagey about what this actually is, but it is the Internet and I don't like crossing the streams.
The kiddo is overjoyed to see me. She has been stuck to me like a koala, and we are getting in a lot of quality time reading books, jumping on the trampoline, and hanging out. She was fascinated by all the wool I brought, and I gave her a little bit of each wool to try out. She loved combing the brown wool, and she managed to spin a lumpy thread out of the Navajo Churro! I will figure out how to add a photo in a bit, we have to go make art and feed a horse.
Update: photo!

Date: 2019-02-24 04:17 pm (UTC)In the menus on the home page, go to Create -> Upload Images. The actual uploading is pretty easy; either drag & drop or browse your files until you have it. Once it's up, go to View all your images to see it. There'll be a image embed url that you'll need to copypaste to embed into your post.
Clunky system. It works, but it's not suited for something like an aesthetics blog.

Date: 2019-03-09 12:14 am (UTC)Also, got your postcard (SO NICE! Definitely evocative of what I've seen of big trees on the left coast.) today. Since my mail comes to a PO box, frequently they're closed by the time I get off work. Mostly I get the mail about once a week. This week that day was today. :) What a lovely surprise for the end of the week!
