Special bonus, giving your characters a smidgen of Native American heritage to justify their access to their magic and mythology, but completely isolating them from any Native American culture or community or characters, or feelings about any of the above. I see that so often, and it bugs the shit out of me. It feels more like punching a ticket to ride the It's Totally Not Cultural Appropriation Express than an actual meaningful depiction of a biracial or diaspora character.
